Tomorrow I (Ole S. Rasmussen) will be flying back to the states together with Anders Dinsen for the third time. This time we are going to both a new city – Boston – and a new conference – STPcon Fall 2019.
In the year of their 10th anniversery, we have been asked to speak and give a workshop at the acknowledged STPcon – a conference for software test professionals .
The invitation was a little surprising, but came about via us speaking and doing a workshop in NYC, where Mike W Lyles, the Director of QA and Project Management at Bigtree and member of the STPcon management, heard some of the attendees from our workshops talk about it. How lucky is that?
It is really a privilege, but also a bit challenging for me, to be among the highly knowledgeable speakers from the test community. The challenge for me is, that I am not out of the test community – or even any IT-community for that matter. My expertise lies within leadership and understanding the psychological implications of the Managers behavior…and using both the psychological and the philosophical questioning to help managers becoming leaders.
So, what can I offer in this highly specialized environment, when I don´t know the trade of software testing? Well, Anders and I have found, that our thoughts about testing and developing being a whole lot more than codes – bringing the human factor into the equation – gives a new perspective and a lot of new solutions to the problems at hand. The workshop we will be giving, is called Maximizing testing outcomes.
I hope to meet you at the conference, for mutual inspiration as to how to make even better development and testing – and turn management into leadership. If you are there, please don´t hesitate to hook up.
